Aladdin 1964

The story of Aladdin has a rich history that spans centuries and cultures. Here’s an overview:

“Aladdin and the Magic Lamp” is one of the tales from the collection known as “One Thousand and One Nights” (or “Arabian Nights”). Interestingly, it wasn’t part of the original Arabic manuscript but was added by the French translator Antoine Galland in the early 18th century. Galland claimed to have heard the story from a Syrian storyteller named Hanna Diyab.

The story follows Aladdin, a poor young man who is recruited by a sorcerer to retrieve a magical lamp from a cave. The lamp contains a genie who grants Aladdin wishes, leading to his rise in wealth and status. He eventually marries the Sultan’s daughter, Princess Badroulbadour, and overcomes various challenges posed by the sorcerer.
