Established in July 1958, TODS was created through the merger of the Tenterden Players and The Masquers. Since then, TODS has been dedicated to delivering high-quality productions to audiences in Tenterden and its surrounding areas. We are a longstanding member the National Operatic & Dramatic Association (NODA) and the Kent Drama Association (KDA), with whom we have participated in many of their Full Length Play Festivals.
TODS presents a mixed season of productions each year including a musical in February and plays in the summer and autumn, alternating on occasion with a revue. While the ongoing major refurbishment of Tenterden Town Hall has taken out of action one of TODS regular performance spaces, we have continued to perform in local venues both in, and near, the town. Our most recent production of Steven Moffat’s comedy ‘The Unfriend’ saw us return for the third time to Smarden Charter Hall where we have previously staged ‘Bedroom Farce’ and our musicals revue ‘On Broadway’.
Our recent production, ‘Bonnie and Clyde’, was a welcome return to the Sinden Theatre, while last September we were thrilled to have the opportunity to perform ‘Ladies’ Day’ at the prestigious Barn Theatre, Smallhythe.
Now in our 67th year, TODS continues to grow and thrive. We are committed to entertaining local audiences with high quality shows while providing our members with the opportunity to take part in these productions, learn new skills both on and off stage, and enjoy an active programme of social events.
